Alterations & custom tailoring · Downtown Richardson

Our story

One tailor.
Every stitch by hand.

Kim A Tailor has been a fixture on Main Street in downtown Richardson for years — the kind of neighborhood shop people find by word of mouth and keep coming back to. Kim takes in every garment personally, and the reputation is built one careful fit at a time.

How we work

We keep it simple. You bring the garment in, we try it on and pin it right there, and you hear the price and pickup date before any work starts. No mystery charges, no surprises at the counter. If a piece turns out to need more than expected, you hear about it first.

The person who pins your garment is the same person who sews it. That's the difference a one-tailor shop makes — the fit you see in the mirror is the fit you take home, because nobody hands your work off down a line.

And because Kim has stitched for this neighborhood for years, the reputation rides on every hem. That's not a slogan — it's why customers keep sending their friends and family through the door.

1

Honest prices

You get the price at the fitting, up front. What we quote is what you pay at pickup.

2

Done by hand

Every alteration is sewn by the owner — the same careful hands, start to finish.

3

A fit you'll wear

Try it on before you leave. If a stitch needs adjusting, we handle it on the spot.

The promise

“It's not finished until it fits the way you hoped it would. That's the whole job.”

— Kim, Kim A Tailor
