Our story

Small enough to know your pet.
Experienced enough to trust.

Dr. Rick Hamlin opened Mercy Animal Clinic in 2013, but he’s been caring for pets in the DFW area since 1986. The idea was simple: a neighborhood clinic where families get real time with their vet, honest pricing, and care delivered like the animal is one of the family — because to us, it is.

How we care

We keep it personal. When you call, a friendly voice answers — often our head receptionist, Amber. When you visit, you see the same familiar faces every time, and you’re given the time to ask every question on your mind. Nobody here rushes an exam or talks over your worry.

Because we’re a small, tight-knit team of about seven, your pet isn’t a chart number — they’re Bella, or Max, or Whiskers, and we remember them. We explain what we’re seeing in plain language, walk you through your options and their costs, and never push a treatment you don’t need.

Dr. Hamlin is also a longtime advocate for rescue. We partner with 501(c)(3) rescues across DFW and offer pre-adoption counseling, because more pets in good homes is the whole point. Compassionate, affordable care for the pets you love — that’s the promise, every visit.
